Frikadeller is danish meatballs made of pork 20170531_170719that basically taste like really good sausages. All you need is ground porkonionsoatsbreadcrumbs (I used flour instead), milkeggs, and salt and pepper.

Combine all your ingredients in a large bowl, using a spoon to break up the meat and mix. I kept my onion pieces big, but traditionally they are chopped very small. You have to refrigerate the mixture for at least thirty minutes before cooking, so plan ahead. 20170531_175907When that time is up, spoonfuls of the mix should be formed into small, thick patties–unlike italian meatballs, frikadeller is not necessarily spherical. Heat up your oil and fry the meatballs for about ten minutes. Place them on paper towel before plating them to dry off any oil, and enjoy with boiled potato and carrots like I did, or with any of the suggestions mentioned in the recipe!
